Mercato Esquilino

Considered one of the most evocative markets in the capital, the Esquilino Market has its roots in the late 19th century, when it animated the entire perimeter of Piazza Vittorio. Over time, following the multi-ethnic evolution of the neighborhood, it has been enriched with colors, scents, and exotic flavors.
In 2001, the historic stalls left the square to move to the former Caserma Sani, a covered structure accessible from Via Principe Amedeo, Via Mamiani, Via Turati, and Via Lamarmora.
The complex is divided into two parts: an elegant four-sided portico housing clothing stores and the lush Confucius Garden—perfect for a green break—and an area dedicated to excellent food from every corner of the world. More than a market, it is an authentic sensory experience.
