Itinerary from Piazza di Spagna to Piazza Navona
This itinerary passes through the heart of Rome's historic center, leading the visitor from the elegance of the Spanish Steps to the spectacular architecture of Piazza Navona. The first stop is Piazza Colonna, dominated by the famous Column of Marcus Aurelius: a triumphal monument nearly 42 meters high, erected between 176 and 192 AD to celebrate the emperor's victories over the Germanic peoples.
Directly opposite the square, overlooking Via del Corso, is the Galleria Alberto Sordi, a refined Art Nouveau shopping mall that is certainly worth a visit. Continuing toward Palazzo Montecitorio, home of the Chamber of Deputies since 1871, you reach Piazza di Pietra: here, the imposing columns of the Temple of Hadrian appear magnificently incorporated into a 17th-century building.
A short distance away is the Pantheon, one of the most iconic monuments in Rome. iconic and best-preserved of antiquity. Considered an absolute masterpiece of millennia-old engineering, it still amazes today with its majestic dome, the largest in the world made of unreinforced concrete.
