Itinerary from Trastevere to the Basilica di San Pietro

This itinerary winds from Trastevere to St. Peter's Basilica. The route passes through the heart of the neighborhood and, following Via della Lungara, reaches the Lungotevere. Alternatively, you can start from Piazza Trilussa and follow the Lungotevere in the shade of the centuries-old plane trees, or go down to the quayside to stroll along the water's edge to Ponte Principe Amedeo Savoia Aosta. Once you reach Piazza della Rovere, continue along Borgo Santo Spirito until you reach St. Peter's Square, less than a kilometer away.
